LGV Training at its very best. We only train our students in ex-industry LGV vehicles, no shortend or cut down trucks at Parrot.
Need to drive something heavier than 3500kgs?
You’ll be needing the C1 licence then.
As from the 1st January 1997 the category C1 (3500kgs – 7500kgs) is no longer an automatic upgrade on a car licence as it was prior to this date. From this date anyone wanting to drive vehicles over 3500kgs have to take a C1 a test.
- Large mobile home
- Medium LGV
- Vans over 3500kgs
A category C1 licence entitles the holder (who must be at least 18 years of age) to drive vehicles exceeding 3500kgs but not exceeding 7500kgs.
For someone wishing to gain the C1 licence it would normally take only one or two days training to reach current DVSA test standard.
Cat C or C1?
The actual driving test for category C1 and C are identical, and the vehicles are also the same size. On top of this there isn’t a great deal of difference in price between the two courses. plus the category C vehicle is also automatic so there is a strong argument for taking the higher category licence.
An LGV medical is required before you can learn to drive anything over 3500kgs. We can arrange all medicals and theory tests.
LGV C1 Course Cost: £ 619.00 all inclusive of training and test fee.
